Surveying New Zealand and Australia 2016
Our offices close 5pm Friday, 23rd Dec 2016
Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Auckland – returning Monday 9/1/2017
Sydney & Melbourne – returning Tuesday 3/1/2017 (skeleton staff) – well not literally!
We take the opportunity to say a big thank you for all your support and wish you and your family a happy holiday season.
Looking back over the biggest projects this year, we find our clients are forging ahead in very competitive markets. Lease deals and refurbishment projects are ever increasing as every square millimetre is put to good use.
Yes, 2016 was the year we turned fifteen. With the loyal support of all our clients we have grown from the north-western suburbs of Sydney to servicing the whole of New Zealand and Australia. You may have seen a slight update to our Brand of late, we took a journey of reflection and asked our clients what Realserve meant most to them.
From that journey, we have now adopted a new tag line of “Start Confident.” Why? After speaking to our clients about what Realserve meant most to them, overwhelmingly the answer was that our surveys and drawings, give them to confidence to do their work!
Photos above are of our all company conference when as a team building activity, we assembled and provided childrens bikes to a worthy charity.
As 2016 draws to a close, we asked our Team Managers to share surveying project highlights of the year.
3D Laser Scanning Australia
Tarek Jomma, our National project manager and his team had laser fun at a food processing plant. The client required an as-built 3D model of a 2-story plant room which was earmarked for significant services / machinery upgrades. This was the first time the client had worked with a laser scan data and a 3D model, the outcome far exceeding the client’s expectations.
Licensed Surveying Sydney
“We have been very busy this year” David McCulloch our Survey Manager said, “our teams have travelled the length and breadth of the state preparing registered lease plans of Telco equipment” and furthermore he added “Burning the candle at both ends to meet another client’ deadline for survey reports for due diligence.” A few new survey toys allowed them to survey like a boss.
Architectural Surveys Sydney
Our Sydney manager Chris was at pains to say he didn’t stay and play at the five-star hotel while preparing Architectural surveys of a Landmark Sydney Hotel. “Surveys and building services information was collected to produce As-Built floor plans and Reflected ceiling plans for our client” he relayed. “additionally, the existing conditions building cross section, we are most proud of.” We look forward to helping all our clients start confident in 2017.
Evacuation Diagrams Melbourne
“We have been camping” said Ian, “for the YMCA!”. Ian our Melbourne manager was very proud of this project when the call came from the YMCA. YMCA is a not for profit organisation where they run camps for disadvantaged young people. “we were keen to help when they needed Fire evacuation diagrams for 6 sites across Victoria.” Other highlights this year include; several very large 3D laser scanning projects and producing REVIT models.
Land Surveying Melbourne
Pools, boom gates and boundaries is how Geoff Forster our licensed land surveyor summed up his teams’ year. Melbourne surveying projects for us in 2016 saw an influx of boundary surveys and strata subdivisions. “Victoria is unique in land titling, and we make sure we are at the forefront of latest surveying legislation for our clientele to be confident in the information they are supplied.”
Retail Tenancy Plans Brisbane
“A couple of decent projects this year come to mind” Chris Hunt reflected “Retirement Village floorplan surveys of 35 units in 3 weeks across 3 regional Queensland towns and how about retail tenancy surveys for 43 shops in just 2 months”. The Brisbane team will be looking forward to the holidays. Being our Brisbane manager, Chris co-ordinates all surveying projects across Queensland.
Lettable Area Plans Perth
"Did you see us on the TV news?" An interesting surveying project in Perth this year was of a new TV Channel studio in the city. As well as being a high profile Western Australian surveying job, it also presented many challenges. Damien our WA manager highlighted some of the complexities of the project, “the tenancy covered three separate buildings that have now become linked by aerial bridges.” working with the managing agent “since the walls were to be fitted out with 300mm sound insulation, we had to get in early and measure the base walls so that the surveys complied with the PCA method of measurement guidelines."
Filed Plans Adelaide
“Where do we begin” Michael our SA Project manager started “we’ve had a lot of regional work this year, surveying sites from Mount Gambier in the south and up around to Whyalla. The economy has been a little bumpy this year” Michael outlined “so tenants and commercial landlords alike, are making sure the full due diligence is completed on sales and their leases.” Our team has been run off their feet providing many lease Filed Plans to the Lands Titles Office.
Architectural Surveys Auckland
Rhys Smith our Auckland manager hit the ground running this year. Joining the New Zealand office his role has lead him and his team to travelling both north and south islands measuring large format retail tenancies. "Once our clients hear that we can provide rentable area surveys nationally, the next thing you know we are on the way to Dunedin and then heading 3hours north of Auckland." Our retail tenancy surveys have been a real hit with Centre managers getting a handle on the extent of each tenancy.
